Balad dan Moka: Lace up your hiking shoes
X Balad dan Moka is the new free monthly event organised
by the Moka’mwad collective in partnership with the Keep
the Pace guides. You are invited to join them every third Sunday of the month to explore the region’s hiking trails with friends, colleagues or family. The aim of the activity is to promote outdoor sports and raise awareness of environmental protection issues among hikers.
The Keep the Pace team is in charge of the maintenance, cleaning and marking of trail running tracks in the Moka mountain range area. They will help you find out more about the history of this beautiful region of the island. In other words, Balad dan Moka is designed to foster interaction between the people of Moka and visitors from all over Mauritius!
Places are limited to 35 participants (depending on applicable health protocols) with online registration (from 8 years old).
Put on your shoes and let’s go! P F: @mokamwad | @ikeepthepace
Les Kocottes welcomes its first three tenants
Les Kocottes consists of former poultry houses that have been converted into a place enabling cultural and social stakeholders to incubate their ideas. The first three tenants, TIPA, Le Wagon and Made in Moris have taken up residence there this year.
For its art workshops for children with learning difficulties, TIPA is delighted “to know that it will be surrounded by highly creative artists,” says the NGO’s Manager, Camille Sénèque.
Le Wagon is a global reference for coding training. It was important to feel “aligned with the spirit of the smart city, especially in terms of eco-awareness and innovation,” says Le Wagon Africa’s Project Manager, Laura Martin.
“We have invested in a place steeped in history to pay tribute to local producers,” says the Made in Moris CEO, Bruno Dubarry.
Welcome to all three of them!
