“Moka’pav sov enn lavi” to learn first aid
Moka’mwad, the citizen collective of Moka Smart City launched a new initiative in October 2023 in partnership with St John Ambulance Mauritius. Let’s turn the spotlight on “Moka’pav sov enn lavi” (I can save a life).
The main objective behind this new project launched by the collective is to offer first-aid training to the people of Moka through monthly introductory sessions at La Kocotte Moka’mwad. These
free sessions take place every second Saturday
of the month from 9am
to noon. They are open
to volunteers from the collective as well as local residents, students and entrepreneurs. Participants who want to follow a
more comprehensive training course after this introduction are encouraged to register with St John Ambulance Mauritius.
“The idea came about because we wanted to provide local residents and the collective’s volunteers with an essential skill, the ability to help someone in danger. We see it as a real
plus to be able to develop these new skills,” says Ketty Lim Ka Lan, Citizen Collective and Events Manager at ENL Property.
