     Husna, St Pierre
The Bagatelle morcellement has been growing steadily since Husna moved in ten years ago. Helping others is second nature to the Chairperson of the NGO, Together We Care. “I want everyone to be happy,” she says. She has been very active during the COVID-19 period, providing food and clothing to the poorest people in the surroundings and other parts of the island. Husna has a selfless heart and quite naturally threw herself in the organisation of the Neighbours’ Day for the past three years. “We now all know each other and it’s really nice,” she says.

 Stéphane, Bagatelle
X Stéphane moved into the Circonstance Saint Pierre morcellement five years ago. He wanted to get more involved in neighbourhood life and started by organising the Neighbours’ Day last year. Having got off to a good start, he continued his involvement! “We had an undeveloped green space and decided to do something about it for everyone’s enjoyment and to create a playground for our children,” he says. Along with a few other neighbours, he organised a fundraiser in the morcellement to clean up the land and grow some plants there. “Living in Moka means constantly creating new connections,” adds Stéphane. Johanna, Courchamps
X Johanna moved to Courchamps with her family three years ago. She was the first resident there and it was therefore natural that new residents turned to her after moving into
the neighbourhood. In addition to creating Courchamps’ Facebook page and WhatsApp group, Johanna also contributed to events held by the city. She organised the first and second Neighbours’ Day and is now a member of a five-person neighbourhood committee that will host this year’s event.
She finds great happiness in serving the neighbourhood and participating in building connections between neighbours, whom she affectionately calls “Courchampions”. “Moka is the place to be. It’s a city with a vision and on the move, and it’s really great to be able to be part of that,” she says. P
