Smart technology for the
benefit of the city
Various smart tools connected to the city’s IoT platform (accessible to residents) or website (accessible to the public) are contributing to reduce Moka’s carbon footprint. Here’s an overview.
Environmental sensors: they have been providing data on humidity, CO2, temperature and noise pollution levels in the city, among others, since 2020.
Smart meters: they have been installed in 2019 to measure the water and energy consumption of residents in real time. Studies show that monitoring our daily consumption encourages us to reduce it significantly and avoid waste.
The Molok waste containers have recently been equipped with fill level sensors to ensure collection only when required by recycling professionals and allow the public to know whether they can deposit their recyclables there.
Smarter lighting will be available in the next few months in Moka. Each light point will be controlled individually and remotely at any time. These meters will also enable analysis of individual and area consumption for greater efficiency.
In the first half of 2022, digital nameplates will enable rapid identification of the city’s available parking spaces to save time and fuel!
