The Saint Pierre Church celebrates its 250th anniversary
The 250th anniversary of the Saint Pierre-ès-Liens Church was marked on Sunday 28 June 2020 in Saint Pierre by cardinal Maurice Piat. He took the occasion to ask the audience to pray for our island to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic. During his homily, the cardinal explained that like Peter, the strength of the Church is not its performance, but its persistence and compassion. The Prime Minister also attended the celebration. Other personalities like the Hon. Leela Devi Dookhun- Luchoomun and
Yogida Sawmynaden, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce respectively, were also present. An ephemeral museum was set up to recount the 250-year history and development of Moka.

Opening of the Smart City
Showroom in Telfair
Moka Smart City teams have chosen to set up their showroom in Telfair, the smart city’s future city centre. A fine team is available on the first floor of the PwC building, opposite Telfair Square, to tell you more about the smart city, its developments and many advantages. As a little extra, the showroom includes a café- restaurant area. “We will offer a simple, delicious cuisine that will appeal to both foodies and health- conscious people,” says Real Food Factory’s Manager, Fabien Halbwachs. For a most pleasant visit and a fruitful exchange, those who are interested or just curious as well as food lovers can call in at the city centre’s new gourmet hangout.
