Moka Trail
Saturday 2 October 2021, 6am. Concentration was at its highest on the start line in Beau Bois. At the blow of the whistle, the first trail runners headed out onto the course. The 500 participants were there to try and win, to push their limits or simply to enjoy a beautiful sporting experience across the hilly landscapes of the heart of the island. They gave their all for this new edition of the Moka Trail.
This year again, the event has shown great innovation to ensure the best possible race conditions while complying with applicable sanitary measures. The Moka Trail included an original format, starting in groups of 50 runners and showcasing two flagship courses: the 14km Petit Both (400 runners) and the 28km Grand Pouce (100 runners).
Two epic courses
Petit Both 14 km
Elevation 650 m
Malenga Stairs
Distance 14,6 km
The runners come across steep passes and pastoral valleys, with a tough course winding its way between the island’s two most iconic mountains: Le Pouce and Pieter Both. An experience that combines technical challenges with visual delight in the lush nature of the heart of the island!
Grand Pouce 28 km
Crève Coeur
    Elevation 1350 m
This course leading runners close to the mythical Pieter Both Mountain includes technical downhills, strategic climbs and winding stairs. The race puts their endurance and motivation to the test, but the beauty of the surrounding nature makes every step worth it!
