on a national scale, reducing CO2 emissions on our island. Cycle and pedestrian paths are being created across Moka, with almost 10km at term. Moka Smart City’s property owners are also entitled to a 40% subsidy for the purchase of an e-scooter. Whether on foot, on a scooter or by bike, the hardest part will soon be choosing the most pleasant mode of transport!
5. Making waste sorting a natural part of everyday life
Waste management concerns us all, especially on a small island. Moka has introduced a number of options to enable residents and users to sort their waste: 15 Molok bins are available to everyone in the five neighbourhoods of the smart city to sort five types of recyclables. In addition to waste sorting, Moka promotes waste reduction through more frugal consumption and reuse. Far from being boring, waste sorting can actually be fun and creative!
6. Rethinking our consumption habits

The city also proudly produces compost, using its BiobiN to process its organic waste. The people of Moka are invited to take part in free workshops and can purchase products made from recycled plastic at the Moka Corner.
Fostering the circular economy means reducing waste through reuse and conversion. It also means supporting the skills of handicraft workers who care about this cause and give new life to our waste!
