Hundreds of runners will turn up for the seventh edition of the Moka Trail on 5 October 2019. We are appealing for volunteers to help in organising such an event.

On your marks…

The Moka Trail has been attracting a large number of running enthusiasts since its launch in 2013. This annual event hosted by Moka Smart City allows casual and seasoned athletes alike to explore their limits in the most beautiful landscapes of the island. This year’s event features four race distances: Kids Fun Run (3.5km), Les Deux Mamelles (7km), Le Petit Both (14km) and Le Grand Pouce (28km). Each route has been designed in the heart of nature, between sugarcane fields and mountains, to test the endurance of thousands of participants.

Behind the scenes

The success of such an event hinges, among others, on the support of volunteers. Around a hundred of them give their time each year to be part of the action on D-Day. Their many responsibilities include running the feed stations and Kids Corner, marking bibs, marshalling as well as the prize-giving ceremony. A unique experience

The volunteer teams enjoy a range of benefits. You will experience a major sporting event first-hand and make pleasant encounters in an uber-lively atmosphere. This is also a great opportunity to support the runners from start to finish. Lilette Babet, an ENL Property employee, will be taking part in the event for the seventh time. “It’s a wonderful experience! I’ve done everything from the prize-giving ceremony to distributing meals and managing volunteers. We’re like one big family working together in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. I strongly encourage everyone to experience it at least once in their lives!”

Want to join in? It only takes a few clicks to register on the Moka Trail page by 16 September 2019. You will then receive information about the day’s programme as well as the tasks assigned to each team. As a bonus, each volunteer will receive a race pack including an official CREW T-shirt, a camel bag, a free Sport Session and Health Check at Synergy Sport & Wellness Institute and other gifts!
