Save the date. The Moka Decathlon Night Run is returning on 5 August 2023, much to the delight of running enthusiasts. This 10km race will start at 7.30pm for a good dose of adrenaline-packed fun.

“It’s a real pleasure to host the second edition of the Moka Decathlon Night Run. This event is an opportunity to bring the Mauritian people together around sport in the heart of the island. I’m looking forward to sharing this unique moment with participants and volunteers this year. See you at the start line!”  said Ketty Lim Ka Lan, Manager of Moka’mwad citizen collective and Moka Smart City’s events.

Returning for the second year running, this race is the outcome of a dynamic and fruitful collaboration between Moka Smart City and the sporting goods retailer, Decathlon. “After the success of the first edition, we are all the more driven to make this year’s race a special one, full of new experiences, a great race pack and a beautiful course with some nice surprises. We can’t wait to see how the public reacts, because we share with Moka the passion for outdoor sport inspired by this event,” says Decathlon’s Leader Commerce & Development, Yannick Doger de Spéville.

A total of 1,300 running enthusiasts from 12 years old are expected to take part in this unique moonlit race along with their supporters. This urban night race has become the most famous of its kind on the island through its race village and lively course. It also features an after-race concert to the delight of runners and supporters alike.

“The support of various sponsors, including ENL, Accenture and Scott – Varta and Heineken (Platinum); PBL (Gold); KFC, SWAN, GCC and Ascencia (Silver); and Sis, Boost it, Espace Maison, Ip Min Wan and Lim How (Bronze) has enabled us to set up an even more ambitious edition of this family event with fantastic prizes in store for runners,” says Ketty Lim Ka Lan.

Four good reasons to take part

  1. You took part in the first edition – then you know why you shouldn’t miss this one!
  2. Now that you know, you have more than one month to prepare for the race and set yourself a big goal to achieve.
  3. There’s no better way to strengthen close and friendly bonds, so get your headlamps ready and join in for a moonlit adventure in Moka.
  4. Fitness, good music and a spirit of friendly competition – without the risk of getting sunburnt. Is that enough, or shall we continue?

The Moka Decathlon Night Run is of course much more than just a race. It is an essential sporting experience that will welcome an increased number of runners this year. So let’s seize the opportunity!
