In Moka, supporting each other also means supporting education. The citizen collective Moka’mwad is supporting a great new initiative started by local education professionals: a free tutoring programme for Grade 4 students.

The idea came from a real need in the community. Staying true to its mission of building an inclusive city that listens to its people, Moka’mwad is stepping in to help. They’re offering a space at La Kocotte Moka’mwad where volunteer teachers will guide children who are struggling at school in a warm, supportive environment that helps them learn and grow.

Support that really makes a difference

We all know how important the early school years are. It’s during this time that children build the foundations for future learning. If they miss out on key concepts early on, it can slow them down later in school.

That’s exactly what this programme aims to tackle: helping kids strengthen the basics in a space where each one gets the attention they need. The sessions, led by qualified and committed teachers, will take place every Saturday at La Kocotte Moka’mwad.
