The Max Boullé Prize invites creatives from around the world to showcase their creativity by designing a temporary artwork to be exhibited at the Telfair Amphitheatre. Architects, artists, designers, and engineers are encouraged to take on this artistic challenge, with the call for projects open until 6th March 2025. A unique artistic challenge, supported by Moka Smart City, not to be missed!

A Tribute to Max Boullé and Mauritian heritage

This competition highlights the work of Max Boullé, a renowned Mauritian architect and painter behind iconic buildings such as the Cap Malheureux Chapel and Port Louis City Hall. Inspired by his work, participants are invited to create an artistic installation that fosters connection and interaction in public spaces.

Organised by Les Amis de Max Boullé, this call for projects is open to talents of all nationalities, aged 18 and over, whether working solo or as part of a multidisciplinary team. The selected artwork will receive a production budget of Rs 450,000 for its creation and installation at the Telfair Amphitheatre, where it will be displayed for three months. In addition, the winning participants will be awarded a prize of Rs 200,000.

“This competition is a fantastic platform for Mauritian art. It celebrates the island’s architectural heritage while offering young talents the opportunity to create and bring culture to life. Supporting this initiative was therefore crucial for us, as fostering the emergence of new artists is an integral part of Moka Smart City’s philosophy," says Mikaël Le Luron, Head of Marketing at Moka Smart City and a member of the jury.
