Travelling Teachers has recently settled in Moka, just steps away from Lycée des Mascareignes. This new academic support agency caters to all education systems, with a young and dynamic approach as well as a wide range of services.
Travelling Teachers strives to combine personal development, self-confidence and academic success by allowing learners to progress through revising the fundamentals of their coursework, practising in real exam conditions or individualised corrections.
The agency moved to Mauritius in August 2019; its modern and well-equipped classrooms over 130m² are within minutes from Lycée des Mascareignes, Travelling Teachers offers year-round courses for all education systems (French, Mauritian and English) and levels (middle school, high school and university).
A variety of flexible student packages
The agency offers small-group tutoring programmes (with a maximum of 5 students) for learners to maintain and improve their level. Teachers can also run tailored revision and individual home schooling programmes.
This unique agency offers revision courses taught by ‘travelling teachers’ from France and abroad. Carefully selected graduates from major schools like Sciences-Po, HEC and Polytechnique provide learners with the required assistance to achieve high scores in secondary school examinations or entrance selection for engineering, business or other schools.
A passion for teaching and travelling
Behind this agency of a new kind are two French graduates. Travelling Teachers was set up in 2018 by Elsa Granveau, who studied mathematics and physics at Sorbonne University and Thomas Broussolle, a law graduate with a master’s degree in international relations from Sciences-Po Aix.
They are both passionate about teaching and travelling and created Travelling Teachers to help students around the world revise and progress in their studies. After various experiences in Morocco, Hong Kong and Reunion Island, they held revision courses in Mauritius during the 2018 school holidays. More than 90 students enrolled in and the results were truly outstanding: 100% of them passed their French baccalaureate exams (80% with distinction) and several students have been accepted in business schools. Travelling Teachers then decided to settle permanently on the island. The adventure has only just begun…
Moka, the ideal place to learn and grow
Moka is an essential place for education with various learning centres: in addition to quality and child-friendly facilities including nursery, pre-primary and primary schools, there are various colleges, lycées and universities.
English-language schooling is provided by private schools like Le Bocage International School (11-19 years old) or Loreto College Saint Pierre, a girls-only public school. With regard to French-language education, École du Centre-Collège Pierre Poivre and Lycée des Mascareignes accept grade 6-9 and grade 10-12 students respectively.
For tertiary studies, Moka is home to a number of institutions, such as the University of Mauritius in Reduit, Curtin Mauritius or the School of Fine Arts of the Mahatma Gandhi Institute.
A dynamic and friendly city, Moka is a favourite destination for learning, education and entrepreneurship!
