Moka Open-Air Cinema, a not-to-miss event for movie-goers!

Following on from successful editions in recent years, Moka Smart City is back with the Open-Air Cinema event. Movie-goers are in for a treat for this new ‘season’ with the screening of no fewer than six feature films at the Telfair Amphitheatre in the coming months. To top it all off, these events are absolutely free ! 

The premiere will take place on Friday 21 October 2022 at 7pm and is bound to delight Tom Cruise fans, who will be able to watch the famous American blockbuster released this year, Top Gun: Maverick, on a giant screen at the Amphitheatre. 

This film is a sequel to Tony Scott’s famous flick, Top Gun, released in 1986, and whose action takes place at Top Gun – the US Navy’s elite fighter weapons school. Adrenaline guaranteed!

“This initiative is aimed at adding more life to the city and diversifying the leisure opportunities within Moka Smart City,” says the Manager – Citizen Collective and Events, Ketty Lim Ka Lan. “This type of family-friendly events enable the public to discover different films in a warm atmosphere.”

Last year’s edition of the Open-Air Cinema attracted nearly a thousand viewers, mostly families and groups of friends. The public is expected to attend in numbers this year again, and should leave with stars in their eyes! 

In addition to the 21 October session, screenings will also be held on 18 November, 16 December, 20 January, 14 February and 10 March. Save the date and welcome to all! 

Practical informations:  

• The first Open-Air Cinema session will take place at the Telfair Amphitheatre from 7pm to 9.15pm on Friday 21 October 2022. Free Entrance!
• For a pleasant experience, we advise you to bring your cushions – and blankets in case you might be cold. 
• You can bring your own food and drinks, but vendors will also be on hand.
